相信大家以前在学英语的时候都会有过这样的困惑，determine，decide，resolve在中文意思上都是“决定”，他们究竟有什么不一样呢？明明都是“决定”，在写作文的时候，却决定不了用哪一个才是正确的。
其实这几个词确实很容易被混淆，单凭英汉词典上的解释，很难理解他们的区别，今天罐头菌从英英解释去区分他们。
一.Decide
decide一般会从两方面去表示“决定”的意思
第一种：
to choose something,
especially after thinking carefully about severalpossibilities
决定某个事情
decide使用的第一种情况一般专指那种
经过特别深思熟虑后
的决定In the end, we decided to go to the theatre.
最后我们决定去剧院。
第二种：
to be the reason or situation that
makes a particular result happen
决定了某事情的结果
decide使用的第二种情况会表示因为某个原因而决定出某个结果，情况
The weather decided the outcome of the tennis match.
天气状况决定了网球赛的结果。
二.Determine
determine在使用的时候，也会有两方面来表达“决定”的意思
第一种
to control or influence something directly
, or to decide what will happen决定某个情况
这里的决定，更加类似于“影响”的意思
Your health is determined in part by what you eat.
在某种程度上你的健康状况取决于你的饮食。
第二种
to make a strong decision
下定决心
determine的第二种意思，其实主要表示一个人“下定决心”
On leaving jail, Joe determined to reform.
出狱后乔决心改过自新。
三.Resolve
to make a decision
formally or with determination
resolve表示“决定”只有一种意思，也是表示“下决心”，但与上面的determine相比，resolve会表现出更加强的意志，很多时候会用在一些“契约，誓言”上
I resolved that I would do better next time.
我决定下次我一定要做的更加好。
